So for someone who claims to not be a fan of love triangles, Jeff Davis sure seems intent on putting as many of them in Teen Wolf as possible. Not only are we going to be treated to Scott/Allison/Isaac drama when the show returns January 6, but also apparently there is something a-brewing between Aiden and Lydia and…Stiles.
According to E!Online, who caught up with Holland Roden at New York Fashion Week:
Ring the love triangle alarm because it seems as though that’s where Lydia is heading with Stiles and Aiden in the new season, even though Roden tried to play down the situation.
“I think it’s very much still fully on so far. It’s kind of like a wait and see kind of thing,” she says of Lydia and Aiden’s relationship when we meet up with the duo again. “I don’t want to call it a triangle because technically I don’t know if I am saying too much or not, but I am friends with both of them and still I am very intimate with one.”
Roden also has advice for fans rooting for a Stiles and Lydia romance. “We are becoming friends, so people have to be patient.” But it’s oh-so-hard to be patient when they are just so cute, no?
Of course, Lydia will have more on her mind than just boys in Season 3B as it was recently revealed that our favorite fiery redhead is actually a Banshee. (A howl-inducing reveal, no? So. Cool.)
“You definitely learn more about it,” Roden teases. “You learn the backstory of how Banshees came about.”
I should have learned a long time ago not to believe anything that Jeff says, but really, this is a bit ridiculous. I love when Lydia and Stiles interact…but as friends. I was a lot like Stiles when I was in high school, obsessed with someone, and it wasn’t healthy. It was actually pretty detrimental to my social development. I was really excited when everyone kept saying that Stiles was going to get over Lydia and they were going to be friends. I think they make awesome friends. I don’t like the idea of the “will they or won’t they” being beaten to death with them.
Also, please don’t toss in another love triangle. One is ridiculous enough. This is a show about werewolves, for crying out loud, isn’t there enough relationship drama to deal with without something as contrived and overdone as a love triangle? Sheesh.
Can we give Stiles a new love interest that doesn’t die in the same episode? That would be great, thanks.
But seriously, please, PLEASE focus more on a banshee backstory because I’m more interested in that than who Lydia makes out with in 3B. We have NO information on how she became a banshee — was she born that way? Did Peter’s attack have something to do with it? What exactly does a banshee DO and what does it mean for her to be tied to the pack the way she seems to be? Is she not really human? Was she ever really human? THESE ARE THINGS I NEED TO KNOW.
