In what many are calling a surprise move, Marvel Studios is reportedly trying to make a deal with Fox, giving them more time to develop their Daredevil reboot in exchange for the rights to some of the characters from the Fantastic Four universe.
We reported a couple weeks ago that Fox has been having trouble getting their new Daredevil project off the ground before they lose the rights in October, especially since director David Slade left the project. Now Fox is in talks for Joe Carnahan (The A-Team) to helm the film which is described as being “Frank Miller-esque.”
In return for more time, Fox would have to give up Fantastic Four characters such as the super-villain Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Hopefully Fox wasn’t planning on using either of these characters for their upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, to be directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle).
I’m guessing that Marvel is more interested in the potential of Galactus and the Silver Surfer than Daredevil, which may be a good move considering the first Daredevil franchise didn’t go so well. What do you think? Is this a good move on Marvel’s part? Comment below and tweet your thoughts to @HollyFangirlish.
