Things you never think you may find interesting – whether or not Max Irons works out before sex scenes.
The man is gorgeous, and a shit load of fun. We’ve had the pleasure of meeting him while working on ‘The Host’.
He’s starring in the upcoming ‘White Queen’ miniseries. And well he talked to Whats on TV about the series. He’s such a great interview.
Did you enjoy filming the battle scenes?
“The story is scene through the eyes of three women, so there are lots of battles which you don’t see on camera, but I did get to do some sword-fighting, which was a lot of fun. They’re the days when you forget that you’re being paid to be there.”
Did you pick up any injuries in battle?
“The armour gave me back problems and I actually dislocated my shoulder during a battle! The armour wasn’t actually metal, it was rubber but it was still heavy. I went to swing my sword to the side during one scene and my pushed my arm to a funny angle and it popped out! It went back in on its own, but my shoulder was agony. I didn’t even get the rest of the day off!” Continue Reading…
With The Host about to be out on DVD, one has to wonder, what is the cast up to? We can tell you what is going on with Boyd Holbrook! The actor has signed on to Jane Got a Gun. He’s also firmed up the plan to star opposite Elizabeth Banks in Little Accidents.
What is the Little Accidents about?
Holbrook will play the lone survivor of a tragic accident that kills 12 men in a small mining town. Banks will play a woman whose son goes missing in the accident and seeks comfort and companionship from Holbrook’s character.
And as for Jane Got a Gun?
In “Jane Got a Gun,” Holbrook will play Ewan McGregor’s younger brother. McGregor plays an outlaw who clashes with star Natalie Portman and her husband, played by Joel Edgerton.
Can you imagine Saoirse Ronan in ‘The Hobbit’? I am not sure that I can. But she didn’t see herself in it either, because she turned it down.
She said:” There was talks about me playing the wood elf Itaril but I had to turn it down. I was really disappointed but there were other projects I had to consider and to spend a year doing ‘The Hobbit’ wouldn’t have left me time for anything else.”
The Irish star is currently filming Ryan Gosling’s ‘How to Catch a Monster, which she is finding “a bit twisted”, and also has a string of other films in the pipeline.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m filming ‘How to Catch a Monster’, which is Ryan Gosling’s writing and directing debut and it’s cool, dark and a bit twisted, too. It’s about an underwater town, and the struggles of the characters living in this dilapidated place. And I’m in ‘Violet & Daisy’, in which I play a hit girl.
What do you think? Should she have starred in ‘The Hobbit’?
The Host will be available for digital purchase starting June 25 through services like Amazon and iTunes. It will be released on DVD/Blu-ray July 9.
The Host’s DVD/Blu-ray special features are as follows:
- Deleted Scenes (specific details were not released)
- Bringing The Host to Life: A behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, featuring interviews with Stephenie Meyer, Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, and Jake Abel.
- Seeker PSA: Feature Commentary with Author/Producer Stephenie Meyer, Screenwriter/Director Andrew Niccol, and Producer Nick Wechsler.
This being one of my favorite movies this year, I have to admit I will be buying the digital download and the DVD. Who else can’t wait for THE HOST.
