So Percy Jackson fans wept last week when Logan Lerman said there would be no more Percy Jackson films. You might as well as just have stabbed us in the heart.
But Logan Lerman is now saying that those comments were taken out of context.
“If we want to make a third one I have to do it, I’m contractually obligated to three movies. I love those movies, they’re a lot of fun to make,” he said.
This may make us giggle like school girls. Yes, totally aware the movies are targeted towards middle grade, but I love them.
But what did he have to say about the comments that went public last week, he said: “That was taken out of context when I said that.”
Here’s hoping for a third Percy!

Oh, I am just going to say it – new pictures of Logan Lerman and you can’t look at him as a Percy Jackson anymore. Yup – all grown man.
Logan’s been doing press for NOAH.
The pictures are for his Interview Magazine article, which is in the April 2014 issue.

Seems like the Percy Jackson franchise will be complete with only two films to its repertoire. Logan Lerman out promoting Noah told MTV News when they asked about Percy Jackson: The Titan’s Curse, “it’s not happening.” However, no word from studio executives yet.
Lerman has been a huge fan of the series in the past siting it for getting him into auditions he normally never thought possible. Since completing Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters — he has filmed Noah, Fury and is rumored to have a part in The Bluff.
His big coup though was the role in Noah:
“I was interested in this movie before I even knew what it was. I heard that Darren Aronofsky was making a film, and there [were] potentially two roles that I could play, and I was like, ‘I’m in for either one of them.’ ”
Initially, the actor went in to audition for the role of Shem (which would ultimately go to his co-star Douglas Booth), when the director asked him to read for the part of Ham. “It was actually the role I wanted more,” Lerman says. “It’s the role I liked more. There’s a lot of tension between [Ham] and Noah throughout the script and I really responded to that.” (x)
While Percy Jackson has been a great book-to-movie deal for Lerman, his schedule might be picking up because of these opportunities. And while the Percy Jackson series is a delightful fantasy where Percy matures throughout the plot which would allow Lerman and the rest of the cast to do so as well; it was a long haul just to see the second one to finish.
All the best to Mr. Logan Lerman in his future endeavors though; he will be missed as Percy Jackson.
Noah is out in theaters this Friday, March 28th.

Paramount has released the second trailer for Noah, complete with an introductory message from Emma Watson.
Are you interested in seeing Noah? I can’t wait. I don’t look at it as something religious – even though it is based on the bible story. I think that it will be an all around amazing movie!
