Remember when we first told you about this movie adaptation? (No? We know it’s been a while, click here.)
Well, according to Dread Central the final book in the series, Deicide now has a release date! (So the movie adaptation can’t be far behind, right?)
Tim Hawken’s Hellbound book trilogy will be completed this December when his new book, Deicide, is released. Additionally, there has been much discussion about turning the story into a movie series featuring Charlie Bewley.
From the Press Release
The third and final book in Tim Hawken’s Hellbound Trilogy is set for release this December, amid development of a film franchise for the series. Titled Deicide, the novel concludes the epic story, which depicts a world of Hell never seen before.
Early critical acclaim and a strong cult following for Hellbound meant Hawken’s work captured the attention of Hollywood right from the start. The author has recently signed partnerships with both Luber Roklin Entertainment and Savela/Kabatoff Productions to help bring his vision to the silver screen. In addition, actor Charlie Bewley (Twilight, “Vampire Diaries”, Hammer of the Gods) has been attached to play the lead character of Michael in the films.
“I found out about Hellbound when a friend gave me the first book,” Bewley said of the trilogy. “I knew right away I wanted to play Michael. Hawken’s dark genius leaps off the page in a visceral way. It grabs you and shakes you up, leaving you thinking about it for months afterward. This is the next big thing in the supernatural genre. The struggle for redemption in a dark world is something that resonates with everyone it touches.”
Ken Kabatoff of Savela/Kabatoff Productions also expressed his excitement at being involved with the Hellbound franchise. “This was an easy decision for us to make. Tim’s series is as enticing as the forbidden fruit itself. It has alluring visuals, crisp dialogue and an invigorating story, all staged in an ancient setting, which Hawken has turned on its head. It’s going to make one amazing film.”
Hawken himself remains humble about the attention his work has received to date. “When you first write something like this, you really don’t know how it’s going to be received. Being a previously unknown author from Australia, I still pinch myself that so many people have shown confidence in my work, right from my publishers, to the fans and now to filmmakers and actors. It’s crazy. The next step is bringing a major studio on board, but with the team of people behind Hellbound now, it feels like the momentum is only getting stronger. It’s a very good atmosphere to be launching the last novel in. Deicide is going to lift it to the next level and end with a bang!”
Deicide will be available from all good book retailers, in both paperback and ebook formats from early December, via Rethink Press.
Seriously, I think Nashville has gotten better this season!
How do you capture all the energy that is Charlie Bewley in one place? Quite simply, you don’t. But the folks over at Plan B PR talked to him recently, he talked a little about everything. Check out the interview below:
Charlie: Why thank you Bri – I have no girlfriend. Not for the want of trying. But I’m an animal, and its an instinct thing.
Bri: Got it…makes sense. So, would you say your best known for your role in The Twilight series and Vampire Diaries? How did those roles launch your career?
Charlie: I suppose people would know those shows best – and by association, that’s where I am best known. Lots of fun doing the supernatural thing.. I would love to explore these supernatural, superhuman and general esoteric in a more serious manner further down the track.
Charlie: Hayden is something else. So much child-like energy which is a joy to behold and be part of. I get paid to be her lover.. someone has to I suppose. Nashville is a party town, a lot of fun – so much musical talent, Karaoke at the Lipstick Lounge was like the final of Pop Idol… I guess for some people Nashville must be like Ibiza is for me. I would have been fired had I been on “Ibiza” instead of “Nashville”.
Bri: I know you have put your heart and soul into your newest project, Thunder Road. Can you tell us a bit about that?
Charlie: We have made many great friends along our Thunder Road journey – and everyone has come together to help bring this important piece of topical moviemaking to those who need to see it. The project is now on its way… but we will have to utilize the entire veterans community in order for this important message to reach as many people as possible.
Bri: Because you had been coming to Dallas for Thunder Road, you and I had become friends. And, we’ve had some fun together! What do you love about Dallas? Have you discovered some great restaurants or nightlife places in Dallas?
Charlie: I loved my time in Dallas. Everyone I met became a friend. The whole place is so warm and positive towards our motives. We hit up all sorts of places – unfortunately I missed out on the Bri-Spree that SG kept us informed with… but I’m sure there will be plenty more opportunity to join in the games next time.
Bri: Yes, we had a blast…a few too many times in fact. Okay, now give us some fun insider news about Charlie Bewley…How do you maintain your manly physique? What’s on your playlist right now?
Charlie: I’m a trance addict – I’m sure Jen can empathize. Morning, Noon and Night… I will one day be a superstar DJ. I am also naturally massive – I have Irish potato-farming genes – no stretch for me to get all +200lbs manly in a couple of sittings.
Bri: Okkaayyy…And LA?
Charlie: I keep pretty tame in LA. Venice vibe has chilled me down maaan… I would say Zinque on Venice and Abbott Kinney for late afternoon sessions is a favorite.
Bri: You kinda suck on social media…no offense:) But, how can fans most connect with you?
Charlie: I want my work to do the talking from now on. Too many voices out there. Those who want to get in touch know how!
Thank you, Charlie. We are big fans and can’t wait to see what you bring us next! xoxo.
And we’ll be watching, too!
Nashville is getting really effin good this season. Even though Juliette Barnes is a bitch, I adore her!
I love Charlie, but I just don’t know about this:
Bewley debuts in Season 2′s third episode.
Interesting! Will you tune in? And how many of you will be tuning in just for Charlie? Don’t be ashamed!! We’re fangirls, too!!!
