Enjoy this sketch from last weekend’s “Saturday Night Live,” featuring Zach Galifianakis (dressed as a dragon) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (a.k.a. Jaime Lannister himself) in “Game of Game of Thrones,” the game show parodying the obsessive nature of the Game of Thrones fandom.
While we have no firm idea of how long we’ll have to wait for The Winds of Winter (A Song of Ice and Fire #6), it looks like George R. R. Martin will be penning a new book in time for the holidays.
Martin has begun work on a Christmas book sure to please Game of Thrones fans, as it is centered on the fan favorite character Tyrion Lannister. The Wit and Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister will be a collection of some of Tyrion’s “greatest quotes, witticisms, and ‘clever and naughty quips.’”
HarperCollins announced the new product, which is set to hit shelves this Christmas, on Wednesday, as reported by The Bookseller. In the novels and the HBO program alike (whereon he is played by Peter Dinklage), Tyrion ranks as the most captivating of Martin’s characters, holding fast to his superior intellect in the face of bigger, brawnier foes’ brute wrath.
Will The Wit and Wisdom of Tyrion Lannister be on your Christmas list this year?
I admit, I didn’t see Game of Thrones. I don’t watch it. But I am scowering the tumblr, because hey, Kit Harrington’s backside sounds pretty to look at.
He spoke with Vulture about filming the beautiful scene. And well judging by my friends Twitter and Facebook Statuses, it was beautiful and Jon Snow really knows where to stick it.
Don’t tell me you used a body double with Ygritte!
[Laughs] No, not with her. Mainly, early on, when my foot was still bad, for the wide shots, when there were running scenes. But apart from that, I could do everything. And that was a lovely scene to film, with Rose Leslie. It’s one of the rare moments in the series where you get quite a tender, happy moment between two people. We were looking forward to filming it, because it was so beautifully written, and then when we did it, it’s so beautifully lit. I enjoyed it a lot, and it wasn’t too awkward. I think Jon’s the only one on the show who hasn’t had sex yet, it seems to be, so that was nice. You’re rooting for him to finally, for want of a better word, get laid. So it was good to get that on the show, as it was.

Cave scene! That’s all we’re saying for now.
